Lincoln went up to Vet Village in Lomira, Wisconsin for his vasectomy on May 28th. The drive was 2.5 hours each way. The vet clinic allowed us to arrive between 9-10am due to our drive. They were very considerate and understanding. When we arrived, we were placed in the rabbit room (they have the horse room, duck room, etc). We waited for the vet tech and then Dr. Greer arrived and discussed everything about the procedure with us. She explained that the procedure itself only takes about 25-30 minutes, it was the prep that took most of the time. The vasectomy was a laser surgery, with a very small incision site. I requested that Linc also be tattooed right near his incision site. While Linc was in surgery, my mom and I drove 20 minutes north to Fond Du Lac, visited a local yarn store (I'm a knitter) and ate lunch. Tbh, it was a very pleasant experience. He has internal stitches that will dissolve, so no needing to have any removed. We arrived back at the clinic at 12:25 and Linc was ready at 1:30pm. Everything went very smoothly. I was very happy with the experience.
He really loved the dutch door on the exam room!
Below is a photo of his incision and tattoo.
Lincolns healed tattoo
And here is Linc's incision site and tattoo tonight. Both healed well, he wore the soft cone for about 2 weeks. His fur is growing back beautifully and you can barely feel where the incision scar is.
